Martin Kumert spent over two decades leading Finance Transformation and Global Business Services at Accenture — including serving as Europe Deputy CFO and Global Managing Director for GBS. He was, in his own words, one of the people who redesigned processes, eliminated steps that added cost without adding value, and implemented systems that made organizations faster and less dependent on individual heroics.

It took years to see what the model was missing. Not because the efficiency logic was wrong — it wasn't. But because what it was missing was not visible inside the frame used to evaluate itself.
